JOSHUA MIRMAN
Bass Trombone and Composition

BIO
New York based composer and bass trombonist, Joshua Mirman always brings a unique individuality to the table. Inspired by a wide variety of artists, from Maria Schneider to Knower, there is a strange edge to everything he writes. Everything he writes has some level of a graspable complexity. Dense rhythmic patterns and complex harmony are all over the music he writes. More than a composer, he played bass trombone in the Disney All-American College Band, with guests like John Clayton. He also played with the New York Youth Symphony for three years, including a tour to Brazil. Always motivating, Josh brings a great energy to any bandstand and loves to cheer on friends and colleges, bringing a lot of unique energy to any situation. During his time at Manhattan School of Music, he worked with greats like Dave Taylor and Jim McNeely.
